On this page, we gather recommendations from members of the International Steering Committee (ISC), the User SteeringCommittee (USC), and other expert and user bodies guiding the transformation of care systems in Slovenia. We are shifting from institutional care to community-based living. Person-centered support is at the forefront.
These recommendations are intended for decision-makers and professionals. They also address service users, their families, and all those who support deinstitutionalization in Slovenia. They assist in shaping policies and programs and strengthen daily practice. They are grounded in respect for the human rights, dignity, and self-determination of people with disabilities.
We invite you to read and apply these recommendations in practice. Each recommendation represents a step toward a shift in mindset.
