Janja Deutschmann is establishing herself as an expert in the field of employment, with a focus on vulnerable groups.
At the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia (ZRSZ), she previously worked as a specialized youth counselor. She played a key role in leading the international project PreseNEETi se (project leader at ZRSZ), which was strategically aimed at improving the social and employment status of young people under the age of 29 who are not employed, not in education, and not in training (NEET individuals). The practice developed within the PreseNEETi se project was also included in the PES Practice Repository, which aims to identify and disseminate proven effective practices at the EU level that can serve as a useful learning resource for other national public employment services.
She is currently leading the project Strengthening Cooperation Between Employment Offices, Centres for Social Work, and Other Stakeholders in the Integration of Long-Term Unemployed Persons into the Labour Market (Institutional Cooperation) at ZRSZ. The core objective of the project is to provide, in one place, successful and more efficient solutions to the complex barriers faced by long-term unemployed individuals in entering the labour market.
Her expertise is also recognized within the judicial system. She began her career as a trainee at the Higher Court in Celje, and in 2020, as a university-graduated lawyer, she was elected lay judge at the Higher Labour and Social Court, further confirming her broad professional standing.
