Štefka Krajnc comes from Laško and is the mother of an adult daughter, Marica. She has experience of living in an institution, where she spent more than 17 years. Today, she lives an independent life in the community. She lives in an apartment where she can take care of herself, receive visitors, and maintain contact with her daughter. She works in a gardening center and does cleaning in business premises. In her daily life, she receives the support she needs, but she makes her own decisions. What matters most to her is being independent, useful, and respected equally as other people in society. She participates in conferences, meetings, and events, where she shares her experience of institutional life and advises others on how they can live independently.
